Handcrafted Christmas Tree Ornaments

One of the things I love about the Holidays is decorating the Christmas tree with unique ornaments. At home we have a lot of ornaments that celebrate events or travels we have had. Some are vintage ornaments or family treasures of Christmases past. Others are just simply beautiful. Then there are the handcrafted ornaments ... special ... one of a kind ... unique to our tree!

Every year we have both vintage and handcrafted ornaments at Vintages. Susan hand makes a variety of ornaments every year. Take a look at some of what we have in the shop.

We also have a selection from a creative artist we met earlier in the year, who makes these little bottles filled with treasures and enhances traditional glass ornaments with tinsel, beads and doo-dads.

Hand Dyed and Decorated Holiday Bottle Brush Trees

Susan has created a whole line-up of decorated trees for your Holiday vignettes, nativities and center pieces ... or to add to your own crafted creations. She bleaches and dyes the bottle brush trees and wreaths, then decorates them with glitter, ornaments, garlands and other treasures.

These range in size from 1-1/2 inches to 10 inches tall. While most are sold as individual trees, the smaller ones are sold in packages or gift boxes. Take a look. We can send more photos and information if you like. Of course, we are happy to ship anywhere.

Prices for hand dyed and decorated trees and wreaths are:

10" trees at $19.95 each; 7" to 8" trees at $15.95 each; 3-1/2" to 4-1/2" trees at $9.95 each; small trees 2-1/2" to 3" at $6.95 each. Gift boxes of six mini trees 1" to 1-1/2" are $12.95 per gift box. Packages of five mini trees are $9.95 per package; three medium wreaths are $7.95 per package and three small wreaths are $4.95 per package.

Curly Girl Designs Cards

We love this line of cards. They are witty ... poignant ... and just plain cute! It's our best selling line. Even more because of the pains that Curly Girl takes to protect the environment and keep the worl in America. These cards are "printed on recycled paper with soy-based ink with wind-power" in Massachusetts. Go Girls!

The card line covers just about every situation, occasion and whim. The images are frame-able. The messages make for great conversation. We find that they express thoughts we have but never put into words.

  

We just got in our Holiday cards. Six designs sold individually ($3.95 each) or in boxes of eight cards ($14.95 per box). These are not your average Holiday greetings. Be unique. Be adventurous. Be different. Get them while you can.

 

Decorate with Reclaimed, Repurposed Barnwood and Tin

These pieces of folk art are made in the little town of Chamblee, Georgia, using salvaged bead board and antique ceiling tin, with a few vintage doo-dads added to complete the image. They are decorative and unique, good for the environment because they use reclaimed materials, good for the economy since they are made in the USA and are good for you because they will warm your heart with a smile.

The artist explains: 

We have been committed to using salvaged materials from the beginning for several reasons. But mostly because, why would you buy some new wood and work for hours to try and create this same old world charm with paint layers and sanding? It's a wonderful way to repurpose salvaged wood and tin.

Picture frames made from salvaged materials, like reclaimed wood, antique bead board, used molding, ceiling tin and barn roofs create rustic, down-home places for your family memories. These angels are made by layering antique wood to form the robes and then attaching wings that are antique ceiling tin. The patina on the reclaimed wood and antique tin is beautiful and each one is unique. These are great for the holidays, of course, but we like to have them around all year long.

We have several of Olive Rose's one-of-a-kind creations at Vintages. These are handmade using fabric and a variety of found or recycled objects. No two of them will be the same so its like owning a piece of folk art. Great gift for doll or folk art collectors.
